Are you grateful?

Hi,

A theme I return to quite often, because I too fall into the trap of forgetfulness, is:

Are we grateful for what we already have?

Do we exercise the gratitude muscle enough?

It’s very common to forget where we are in life and think only about the future.

I will be happy when I achieve that goal, that thing, that relationship. Our mind is mostly set on the future, forgetting to enjoy the present. And when we don’t enjoy the present, we forget to be grateful for what we already have in our lives.

Gratitude helps us to focus on the positive aspects of life, instead of the shortcomings, with a profound effect on our mental and emotional health.

I try to maintain a gratitude muscle “fitness” habit, but, I have to admit, I forget about it sometimes too. Every night, together with my girlfriend, I want to express at least 5 things, people or events for which we are grateful for the day just passed. I often have a hard time coming up with 5 things, but after some practice, I realize that there are many things, big and small, to be grateful for and it makes me feel wonderful.

Try it!

Exercise your gratitude muscle every night.

He needs training too.

They say, “If you could see yourself through other people’s eyes…” Or, “If you could see yourself as I see you, […]

Why do we love traveling?

A few days ago, my girlfriend asked me a question that really got me thinking: Why do most people have such an attraction to traveling? What do we actually get out of it? An interesting question, one I hadn’t thought of before from this angle. I took for granted that we all like to travel. […]

Tears of happiness

I was watching a documentary on Netflix and I was listening to a group of young people singing beautifully. The harmony they managed to create was chilling, and without realizing it, my eyes watered. Of course, each of us is different and the way our bodies react to different events and emotions can vary greatly. […]
